Are you looking for money for your business? Are you an investor looking for a new high return investment vehicle? Well this might help you indirectly get in the Black and help you get funding or find a new investment. I put this quick survey together. Please take the time to answer the questions and I will discuss the results. You can also see the results once you answer the questions. This will help people see what I think is a huge need for financing for Entrepreneurs around the globe and a big investment opportunity for many people that have never thought about investing or loaning to small businesses before.

The answer is yes of course!

So, the nice folks over at the Fox Business Website were kind enough to feature one of the companies that I helped start today and that is a great way to start off 2012.

The great thing that is now allows us to say is this.

“As Featured On Fox Business News”

This brings a lot of social proof to our site and gives people confidence in at least talking with us about doing their Website.

The lesson here is that PR / Marketing and getting the word out is a lot like bathing, they all work best when you do it on a regular basis and other than investing time, there is not a lot of cost to it, but the payoffs can be huge.

With the Web, there are so many opportunities out there it is not even funny. Figure out the places you go for news and contact them and find out what their criteria is for having them do a story and then follow through and give them exactly what they want!

Oh and by the way, if you need a Website, check out ConvertToWordPress.org .

Good luck out there and I will spend a lot more time on how you can get a ton of publicity for pennies on the dollar.

Cheers,
Easy Anderson

I went to go see a band play last night called Scars On 45. You may have heard them on Gray’s Anatomy and they have a couple of songs out now that you may be hearing on the radio. Well, I am letting you know now that you should plan on hearing a lot more of them over the coming years. They have the ability to be a break out band.

The reason that I am writing about them today is that in chatting with Chris who is their Drummer slash Social Media manager, I told them that I would give them a hand with getting the word out and this is the first part in doing that. We are going to follow their Social Media popularity and hopefully we can show you how to crush your Social Media like we are going to for Scars On 45.

Here is one of their songs.

And this one…

So, what we are going to do here in the next month as a goal is quadruple their Twitter followers.

And then get those fans to help us get the word out about the great sound they have. So make sure you go follow them on twitter at www.twitter.com/scarson45 and you can follow and like them on Facebook @ www.Facebook.com/ScarsOn45 and of course, here is their official Website www.ScarsOn45.com

Below is where they stand on Facebook. Make sure you like and follow them and follow us as we show you what Social Media can do.

Cheers,

If you have never read this, you are in for a treat. While there has been much revisionist history concerning what Thanksgiving is and was all about, here is the REAL story. A hint (The triumph of Capitalism that saved the Pilgrims and therefore the US of A and you and me too!)

Here is the real story… Enjoy.. I have posted the short version and another longer one. Would love to hear what you think.

God Bless you and yours on this most splendorous of Truly American Holidays!

Cheers,
Andrew “Easy” Anderson

The Real Story Behind Thanksgiving

Did you know that the first [Plymouth Colony Pilgrim's] Thanksgiving was a celebration of the triumph of private property and individual initiative?

William Bradford was the governor of the original Pilgrim colony, founded at Plymouth in 1621. The colony was first organized on a communal basis, as their financiers required. Land was owned in common. The Pilgrims farmed communally, too, following the “from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs” precept.

The results were disastrous. Communism didn’t work any better 400 years ago than it does today. By 1623, the colony had suffered serious losses. Starvation was imminent.

Bradford realized that the communal system encouraged and rewarded waste and laziness and inefficiency, and destroyed individual initiative. Desperate, he abolished it. He distributed private plots of land among the surviving Pilgrims, encouraging them to plant early and farm as individuals, not collectively.

The results: a bountiful early harvest that saved the colonies. After the harvest, the Pilgrims celebrated with a day of Thanksgiving — on August 9th.

Unfortunately, William Bradford’s diaries — in which he recorded the failure of the collectivist system and the triumph of private enterprise — were lost for many years. When Thanksgiving was later made a national holiday, the present November date was chosen. And the lesson the Pilgrims so painfully learned was, alas, not made a part of the holiday.

Happily, Bradford’s diaries were later rediscovered. They’re available today in paperback. They tell the real story of Thanksgiving — how private property and individual initiative saved the Pilgrims.

This Thanksgiving season, one of the many things I’m thankful for is our free market system (imperfectly realized as it is). And I’m also grateful that there are increasing numbers of Americans who are learning the importance of free markets, and who are working to replace government coercion with marketplace cooperation here in America and around the world.

Paul Schmidt

– copied from http://FreedomKeys.com/thanksgiving.htm which was copied from the Nov. 20, 1997 issue of THE LIBERATOR ONLINE at http://www.theadvocates.org/liberator/vol-02-num-21.htm

“Back in the early 80s, we took the kids up to Plymouth to see my wife’s sister who lived there at the time. Visited Plymouth Plantation. During the tour, I was struck by the presence of fortified guard shacks in the town square and asked the guide if they were a last line of defense for the citizens there if trouble with the natives spilled into the compound. He told us that they were for the control of the FOOD RIOTS which broke out those first few winters — BEFORE they abandoned their experiment with Marxism before Karl was even born…. Seems each generation or so we must relearn the hard lessons of history.”

Each year at this time school children all over America are taught the official Thanksgiving story, and newspapers, radio, TV, and magazines devote vast amounts of time and space to it. It is all very colorful and fascinating.

It is also very deceiving. This official story is nothing like what really happened. It is a fairy tale, a whitewashed and sanitized collection of half-truths which divert attention away from Thanksgiving’s real meaning.

The official story has the pilgrims boarding the Mayflower, coming to America and establishing the Plymouth colony in the winter of 1620-21. This first winter is hard, and half the colonists die. But the survivors are hard working and tenacious, and they learn new farming techniques from the Indians. The harvest of 1621 is bountiful. The Pilgrims hold a celebration, and give thanks to God. They are grateful for the wonderful new abundant land He has given them.

The official story then has the Pilgrims living more or less happily ever after, each year repeating the first Thanksgiving. Other early colonies also have hard times at first, but they soon prosper and adopt the annual tradition of giving thanks for this prosperous new land called America.

The problem with this official story is that the harvest of 1621 was not bountiful, nor were the colonists hardworking or tenacious. 1621 was a famine year and many of the colonists were lazy thieves.

In his ‘History of Plymouth Plantation,’ the governor of the colony, William Bradford, reported that the colonists went hungry for years, because they refused to work in the fields. They preferred instead to steal food. He says the colony was riddled with “corruption,” and with “confusion and discontent.” The crops were small because “much was stolen both by night and day, before it became scarce eatable.”

In the harvest feasts of 1621 and 1622, “all had their hungry bellies filled,” but only briefly. The prevailing condition during those years was not the abundance the official story claims, it was famine and death. The first “Thanksgiving” was not so much a celebration as it was the last meal of condemned men.

But in subsequent years something changes. The harvest of 1623 was different. Suddenly, “instead of famine now God gave them plenty,” Bradford wrote, “and the face of things was changed, to the rejoicing of the hearts of many, for which they blessed God.” Thereafter, he wrote, “any general want or famine hath not been amongst them since to this day.” In fact, in 1624, so much food was produced that the colonists were able to begin exporting corn.

What happened?

After the poor harvest of 1622, writes Bradford, “they began to think how they might raise as much corn as they could, and obtain a better crop.” They began to question their form of economic organization.

This had required that “all profits & benefits that are got by trade, working, fishing, or any other means” were to be placed in the common stock of the colony, and that, “all such persons as are of this colony, are to have their meat, drink, apparel, and all provisions out of the common stock.” A person was to put into the common stock all he could, and take out only what he needed.

This “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need” was an early form of socialism, and it is why the Pilgrims were starving. Bradford writes that “young men that are most able and fit for labor and service” complained about being forced to “spend their time and strength to work for other men’s wives and children.” Also, “the strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes, than he that was weak.” So the young and strong refused to work and the total amount of food produced was never adequate.

To rectify this situation, in 1623 Bradford abolished socialism. He gave each household a parcel of land and told them they could keep what they produced, or trade it away as they saw fit. In other words, he replaced socialism with a free market, and that was the end of famines.

Many early groups of colonists set up socialist states, all with the same terrible results. At Jamestown, established in 1607, out of every shipload of settlers that arrived, less than half would survive their first twelve months in America. Most of the work was being done by only one-fifth of the men, the other four-fifths choosing to be parasites. In the winter of 1609-10, called “The Starving Time,” the population fell from five-hundred to sixty.

Then the Jamestown colony was converted to a free market, and the results were every bit as dramatic as those at Plymouth. In 1614, Colony Secretary Ralph Hamor wrote that after the switch there was “plenty of food, which every man by his own industry may easily and doth procure.” He said that when the socialist system had prevailed, “we reaped not so much corn from the labors of thirty men as three men have done for themselves now.”

Before these free markets were established, the colonists had nothing for which to be thankful. They were in the same situation as Ethiopians are today, and for the same reasons. But after free markets were established, the resulting abundance was so dramatic that the annual Thanksgiving celebrations became common throughout the colonies, and in 1863, Thanksgiving became a national holiday.

Thus the real reason for Thanksgiving, deleted from the official story, is: Socialism does not work; the one and only source of abundance is free markets, and we thank God we live in a country where we can have them.

PayPal Can Make Or Break Your Business

Now, I am not one to step in an bash companies for making mistakes as we all make them from time to time and for the most part, I really like PayPal. But…

I have recently been involved with a company that has had their PayPal account restricted without warning. When I mean restricted, PayPal is allowing money to go into the account, but won’t let them access it or pay bills out of it or have access to any of the money in the account and we are not talking about a few hundred dollars here but thousands.

Pretty jacked up I know. Now I had heard of things happening like this before, but never had been an eye witness to it. Now these guys don’t sell anything on Ebay or offer digital downloads or anything and they have been paying $60 per month for Payments Pro and Virtual Terminal for over a year.

The thing that bothers me the most is that they have not been able to get a straight answer out of PayPal for days as to why the account was restricted or what is exactly needed to get it unfrozen. And they have not been able to talk to an actual person that can tell them specifically what they need to unfreeze the account. It seems that they had never manually processed a credit card up until now and that apparently triggered it.

What You Should Do

My advice is to use www. Squareup.com to process your credit cards an only use PayPal to take in subscription payments or set up payment buttons if that is the case. You need to have more than one alternative for bringing in money. Now this may seem like a pain in the ass, but trust me, it is far better than what I am seeing happening with this company.

Since they do a sizable portion of their business through PayPal, to say that it has hurt their business dramatically is an understatement.

If this can happen to them, trust me, it can happen to you and you need to have a back up plan for funding. Make sure you look around at authorize.net and others.

While I have not had problems with my account, this does give me no small concern about what could happen.

To be fair, I will try and contact PayPal and see if I can get the full story.

I will also being doing some research on PayPal alternatives for you too and post them. Now PayPal may indeed have a legitimate reason to request information from these guys and be that as it may, it is the worst case of customer service I have seen out of a company communications wise in some time. They have spoken to at least 12 different people and spent hours on the phone trying to get to the bottom of things over the past week to no avail and all they keep getting is a form letter asking for the same info they have supplied several times. They also got different information from different people about what they should and should not provide informaiton wise. Like I said, jacked up.

Will keep you posted on this so that you can perhaps avoid this huge pot hole and keep your fingers crossed for them.

Cheers,

How is that for some stats? Now I am extrapolating here, but I suspect that the numbers are about the same for Facebook as well.

So, if you want to get 20.000 real followers you need to get about 50,000 followers.

Do with this info as you will.

While I never met him, I did see the genius of his shadow from close up. I came on board Apple to work on an ancillary project the very same week he was ousted from Apple. In fact I toured Apple headquarters the very next day and I have never walked by some many hundreds of people so eerily quite.

I ran into his shadow again in Ann Arbor when I got to play with the Genius that was the Next computer when it first came out. I remember I was the only one standing around the table with this wonderful machine. I lost myself playing with just some of what it could do. The software back then was decades ahead of it’s time. I could not believe what it was capable of…

Much of that software is the basis of all that is Apple today.

Then I was yet again astounded with what came out of Pixar. I was taken to a magical place of animation that seemed as real as real life.

Then as the iPod and iPhone and finally the iPad came out, there could be no denying that he was one of a kind that only came along so very rarely.

You will be missed by millions of course and by this one man who got to see your shadow up close.

And you will touch even those who don’t appreciate how you have changed their lives for the better, made them happier, brighter, and eased their day as your shadow does indeed cover nearly the whole world.

May you live on in bits and bytes everywhere.

I am tired of the posers out there and it is beginning to piss me off quite frankly.

If you are a local business in virtually any town in the US. I mean a Plumber, Dentist, Plastic Surgeon, Baker, Hairdresser or pretty much any other business that could benefit from being on the first page of Google and other search engines in your town than you need to read this.

Have you spent thousand on Radio, TV, Newspapers or even on Google Ad Words with less than stellar results?

Well, being on the first page of Google in your town can blow away the results of all of those as well as using some of the other online marketing techniques that I will implement for you. Whatever results you have gotten online in the past, I am going to show you how to double them. I guarantee it.

If you would like to have new clients for your business on a steady basis and dominate your competition then this is for you.

I am going to be taking a very select and limited group of clients. I am only going to be accepting one client per niche per city.

Last but not least, I going to give you a money back guarantee that this will drastically improve your any results you have gotten from online marketing.

Ask yourself how this could impact your business. Think about what having new clients coming on a regular basis will do for you business, your piece of mind, your bottom line.

What could being on the first page of Google or Bing or both do to your bottom line?

Like I said, one business per niche per city. First come first served.

Call, 307-459-1092 between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM EST. Please leave a message if we don’t answer. We have been getting rather busy as of late. And this is all white hat. If you do the right things in this business you can and will be rewarded.

Once I hit my number of clients, then this offer will be over. Talk to you soon.

Cheers,
Andrew Anderson

How You Can Make More Money Starting Right Now

I hardly ever login to Linkedin and only do Facebook about once a week if that. Plus, I have been keeping my Twitter to a minimum these days which is a whole other blog post, but in my quarterly login to Linkedin, I came across one of what I think is one of the core truths about making money.

The first time I heard something similar, it stopped me in my tracks and here is what I distilled that rather shocking moment down to.

“The Key to being successful is to become great at what you are good at, not becoming mediocre at what you do poorly”- Andrew Anderson

And that my friend is pretty much the secret to making money in a nut shell.

If you every really want to get ahead, you need to figure out what you are good at and say to heck with the rest. Become the best that you can be at it.

Let people that love to do what you hate do it for you. If you can pay someone to do laundry and it costs you less or even the same as what you love to do, let them do it.

Same goes with Yard work, and everything else.

When you do things you don’t like, you are not going to do them as fast or as well and it takes time from practicing and getting good at what will truly make you money. The mind set may be foriegn to you, but it works.

When someone tells me they have a maid or domestic help, I think what a smart cookie. I used to think they were lazy or pretentious. Shows you how truly ignorant I was. They were actually smart and had a lot more money and free time than I did. But I eventually figured it out.

Now you can too.

Cheers,

Using A Transcription Service Makes You More Money

I get asked quite often what is the best way to easily add more to the bottom line and perhaps the easiest one of all is using a Transcriptionist instead of a typing things out yourself.

Why you might ask? Well, it is because you already know how to talk and I bet you can’t type 100 words a minute. Plus, you won’t make money when you are typing. You make money by doing whatever wonderful thing that you do that is unique and wonderful.

Think about this. The average person can speak 7,000 to 10,000 words per hour. Bet you know some people that can blow those numbers away. Some books only have 40,000 words in them.

So, in 4 or 5 hours you can get out the book you have always been thinking about writing! LOL

But really, it is about not wasting time on things that you are not good at and spending time on things that you are great at. That is how you make money. It is not what they teach you in college or any type of schools for the most part. They always tell work on your weaknesses.

WRONG!!!!

You let someone that is GREAT at the things you are weak at and concentrate on getting even better at what you are great at… There are people that LOVE to do what you hate doing and they are faster and better at it than you can ever hope to be and they enjoy doing it. So, why not let them?

Using transcription services is one of those things. You can do blogs, letters, memo’s create products etc. Talk for an hour and then let someone else spend hours typing it up and you move on to bigger and better things.

While normally transcription services run about $60 + per audio hour or $1.00 plus per minute of audio, you can get them for only $36 per audio hour or 60 cents per minute at

www.YakWrite.com .

How To Get 10 Minutes of Transcription For Free

Simply email info @ YakWrite.com and put 21 in the subject line and they will tell you how to submit up to 10 minutes of Audio to be transcribed. Hurry up though, there are only 20 of these being given away. Once you try it, you will be amazed at how much easier it makes things for you. It will also free up a lot of time.

Cheers,

Well, it has been one of those weeks with Murphy in full force. I managed to take out my computer and my car each in less than 5 seconds since this last weekend.

While I knew it was possible, I had just never done it myself. While I was driving less than five mph, apparently that was 4 mph too fast when driving during a gully washer and you have a mini-creek in the middle of a suburban street, you can take out an alternator in one big splash. Thank goodness for AAA. Love you guys!!!! You Rock!

While chatting with a client on Skype from the comfort of my cushy chair, and swiveling around to grab a file, little did I know that by having the headset get stuck in said chushy swivel chart that you can pull over your computer that just so happened to have a 1 terabyte external hard drive on it where I store most of my work and my anti-virus software. Said hard drive make a terrible noise and died with a spasm right after it hit the floor.

Can you say ARGGGHHHH… That is when I figured out the limitations of my back up system. Looks like it may be another two weeks to see what can be recovered. And because I did not get my anti-virus reloaded to the main drive in the first hour, guess what? You guessed, 4 bazillion infections later. The good news it was and is all contained. But wow, what a pain in the butt. But there is the 3 doozies for you.

Now of course if I had been using what we put our clients on I would have been fine but hey, that would have taken an couple of extra hours to do.

Guess what? I have lost about 30 hours of productivity and counting now.

So, let this be a lesson to you. Don’t drive in Torrential Downpours if you don’t have to. Don’t put external hard drives anywhere they can fall off and make sure your back up systems are fully up-to-date! Oh, and don’t go on the Web for even two seconds without Virus Protection.

Drowning your car and killing a hard drive and getting some viruses all officially and unofficially suck.

That being said, it won’t happen again and it could have been a whole lot worse.

I only have about 150 urgent emails to answer and if you are one of them, I will get back with you ASAP.

Cheers,
Andrew

More Chaos to come that is for sure. In my previous post, I talked about how to come out ahead of the stupidity in DC. Most of them are in denial and are not taking any of the blame for the Downgrade of the US Debt for the first time in History.

They are spending more than they take in and no matter how many times they say otherwise, the party is over. It is not about raising taxes and killing off even more jobs, it has to come from not spending like a drunken sailor and not pushing radical and stupid agendas like Global Warming. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.

OK, well don’t expect them to get un-stupid anytime soon. What they have is terminal and can only be changed with an election.

But, here again, you can profit from it. If you purchased puts on the S&P in April like I discussed you are one happy clam! We could see the DOW fall back down through 10,000. Although at the end of the day, it really does not matter to most people.

What else can we do knowing that the economy is going to get worse here?

Well, you need to ask yourself when times get tougher, what is it that people are going to buy and what are they going to get rid of and we need to think counter-intuitively here.

You are going to have to entertain them or help them make or save more money. If you can do something that falls in one of these three categories you will be fine.

So, look at what product of service you can do that can emphasize these things and then prove in no uncertain terms that you can do it and you will be well on your way.

And don’t forget to smile. Stupid usually does not last forever and you might as well smile. You can get through this.

Cheers,
Andrew Anderson
