He speaks about the state of Entrepreneurs and Capitalism and the lack of morality in our government today.

This man is one of a very, very few politicians that I have respect for these days. He is of the mold of our founding fathers in that he put his life on the line when he got into politics. He led the way for the downfall of the Soviet Union and is truly one of the great leaders of the past 100 years. If you are old enough to remember the time when he lead Poland on a path to Democracy and most importantly Free Market Capitalism, you may feel the same way I do.

He stared down execution and torture to lead Poland to its current prosperity and freedom as a Union Organizer for the shipbuilders. And unlike the Union organizers in the US, he then went on to be and still is one of the biggest promoters of Free Market Capitalism and Entrepreneurs in the world. He has also seen first hand the destruction and evil that Intellectual Elitism, Communism and Socialism can do first hand and offers some advice for the people of the United States.

As a dyed in the wool Capitalist and a fan of Ayn Rand, I thought I would put these videos of John Stossel's New Show up for you. Interesting viewing for sure.

In it he discusses Atlas Shrugged, the book by Ayn Rand with a number of people and he talks about the similarities that are going on today.

I am including all 6 videos.

If you want to read the book, I suggest that you don't watch the videos until afterward.

Would love to know what you think if you have read the book. Enjoy!

I am updating this post from last February. I think it is even more relevant now than then.

Did you know we Capitalists had our own Capitalist Angel? Kind of neat don’t you think?

Every since I was a little Kid, I knew that I was going to be a millionaire when I grew up.

My Mom indulged me in this and my bedroom was a constant disaster in that I usually was trying to grow some type of new yeast under the bed or tearing apart motors, or other mechanical devices on dresser and in the dresser. or on the floor. It was really an enter at your own risk environment.

I also noticed that the grown-ups that had it seemed to be happy and the ones that did not, seemed pretty miserable. I noticed this pretty much everywhere from the grocery and hardware stores, to my own extended family. If you listened closely, the vast majority of unhappiness came from the lack of money. So I never fell into that stupid socialist trap that money is the root of all evil because in fact I knew that it was the exact opposite. I knew those people that said that were secretly lying which put me on edge and gave me a bad feeling that at that age I recognized but could never quite put my finger on. In my own observations it brought happiness and peace to peoples lives.

As I grew older I wanted to figure out how to make and keep it money so economics and investing became some of my hobbies. I always worked from about 6 years old on either mowing grass, selling Christmas Cards door to door, on my Grandparents farm, or in my Dad’s Hay and Feed business. Throwing around several hundred 75 lb. bales of hay a day when you are 14 will give you the incentive to figure out how to make money a bit easier than that.

At 17 I purchased my first Stocks and made money on the transaction. As I did not have a mentor in this arena, it was a learn as you go process, so I devoured every book that I could get my hands on about making money. I made mistakes though… arghhh and went broke several times after making it per say. But, those mistakes later served me well. I soon realized that there was a lot of contradictory information out there about making money and there is even more of it today!

Then I started to read the likes of really smart Economists like Ludwig von Mises, Friedrich Hayek, Milton Friedman, and Thomas Sowell among others. Through them I found out that while economics was a big, big issue, in essence it was pretty easy to understand.

Capitalism is the only system in History that we have found in thousands of years that works every time. The only time it does not is when the government steps in, period. Socialism and Communism does not work. Government intervention caused the Great Depression and every single recession and depression before and after including this one.

One of the main causes was the Community Reinvestment Act in which the Government forced banks to lend money to people that could not afford it along with a bunch of other large and small government interventions. The cause is the Politicians in office right now.

Do you see them taking the blame for it? Of course not. They try and point it toward Corporate greed when it is just another case of Political stupidity. But alas, complaining about it won’t fix things, but knowing what is going on can help you profit from it.

Now I am getting a bit off track here but if you don’t know the rules of the game, how do you ever expect to win? The answer is you may for a while but sooner or later you will get bit on the butt and lose and you won’t know why.

I will give you some reading to do in the future if you are interested that will help you understand what the real rules are and you will be ahead of billions other out there that are clueless.

Capitalism is the only system that functions in a way which rewards rationality and penalizes all forms of irrationality….It is capitalism that gave mankind its first steps toward freedom and a rational way of life. It is capitalism that broke through national and racial barriers, by means of free trade. It is capitalism that abolished serfdom and slavery in all the civilized countries of the world.”
Ayn Rand

After 30 years of study of making money and investing, I have come to the conclusion that the following are the 3 best investments period.

1. Invest in your own Education constantly, but filter out whom you listen to and get a mentor who has been there and done that and has the scars to prove it. You now have me but you will want to pick up more.

2. Invest in your own business or other peoples businesses. This is not stocks on Wall Street that you have no control over. I am talking about putting money into your own business or going out and finding other businesses whereby you can invest your expertise, money, or both. You can get returns in the 1,000% on a regular basis. If you live in America, you can do this in a Roth IRA that you control. You can blow away any returns your Broker or Investment Adviser is doing for you if you do just a little bit of homework.

3. Well, anything that allows you to get your money of of the US dollar and into something real. Right now I would say silver, or even real estate as long as it is in places like Argentina or some other country that does not have inflated prices. I used to say Real Estate for sure. But I have to add a big caveat, especially now. Real Estate prices could still end up being corrected another 20 to 40% downward. Especially commercial real estate. The dollar looks like it is going to be worth less and less and inflation is starting to kick in big time. So, your money in the bank is could be worth a whole lot less.

But I still thing that #1 is your best bet for now.

OK, so on to Capitalism and why you need to make as much money as fast as you can. (and no it is not just because of what is happening to the Economy now that the Democratic Socialists have taken control). Just in case you forgot, they have been in control of the Congress since 2006. The Economy sure has done grand with them in charge so far huh? But this is another issue that we will discuss later from a purely economics standpoint. But I think a lot of the bad things were done on purpose.

But that is another long conversation best suited for another time and another venue. But just got check out the Ludwig Von Mises Link and check out Casey Research for what is really going on in the world of money. I suggest you sign up for their free daily dispach at the bottom of the page.

A Primer On Capitalism

I am going to include the following excerpt from “Atlas Shrugged” by Ayn Rand a Russian immigrant (legal) that came to America in the 20’s to escape from Communist Russia

This book was given to my by a friend exactly at the right time for me a few decades ago. Rand was the first writer-philosopher-thinker that thought like I did about money and she also named several types of people that I had run into over the years on a constant basis due to my family’s heavy involvement in politics… Namely Moochers… For that, I am forever grateful because when you can name something, it gives your power over it.

If you have never read or listened to “Atlas Shrugged” I highly suggest it as a primer in Capitalism as it will give you a better understanding about what is going on in the US and around the world as a whole. Plus she defines my idea of Capitalism to a T. Now she goes to some extremes to prove her points, but even though it was written nearly 60 years ago it has an eerie resemblances to what is currently happening.

The following is an excerpt from Atlas Shrugged.

This is called the ” Money Speech” and is from a character in a book. This will not spoil the book for you if you want to read but give you a taste of what it is all about. Hope you enjoy it.

This is why I want each and every one of you to make as much money as fast as possible and this is what drives me each and every day.

“So you think that money is the root of all evil?” said Francisco d’Anconia. “Have you ever asked what is the root of money? Money is a tool of exchange, which can’t exist unless there are goods produced and men able to produce them. Money is the material shape of the principle that men who wish to deal with one another must deal by trade and give value for value. Money is not the tool of the moochers, who claim your product by tears, or of the looters, who take it from you by force. Money is made possible only by the men who produce. Is this what you consider evil?

“When you accept money in payment for your effort, you do so only on the conviction that you will exchange it for the product of the effort of others. It is not the moochers or the looters who give value to money. Not an ocean of tears not all the guns in the world can transform those pieces of paper in your wallet into the bread you will need to survive tomorrow. Those pieces of paper, which should have been gold, are a token of honor–your claim upon the energy of the men who produce. Your wallet is your statement of hope that somewhere in the world around you there are men who will not default on that moral principle which is the root of money, Is this what you consider evil?

“Have you ever looked for the root of production? Take a look at an electric generator and dare tell yourself that it was created by the muscular effort of unthinking brutes. Try to grow a seed of wheat without the knowledge left to you by men who had to discover it for the first time. Try to obtain your food by means of nothing but physical motions–and you’ll learn that man’s mind is the root of all the goods produced and of all the wealth that has ever existed on earth.

“But you say that money is made by the strong at the expense of the weak? What strength do you mean? It is not the strength of guns or muscles. Wealth is the product of man’s capacity to think. Then is money made by the man who invents a motor at the expense of those who did not invent it? Is money made by the intelligent at the expense of the fools? By the able at the expense of the incompetent? By the ambitious at the expense of the lazy? Money is made–before it can be looted or mooched–made by the effort of every honest man, each to the extent of his ability. An honest man is one who knows that he can’t consume more than he has produced.’

The Real Story Behind Thanksgiving

Did you know that the first [Plymouth Colony Pilgrim's] Thanksgiving was a celebration of the triumph of private property and individual initiative?

William Bradford was the governor of the original Pilgrim colony, founded at Plymouth in 1621. The colony was first organized on a communal basis, as their financiers required. Land was owned in common. The Pilgrims farmed communally, too, following the “from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs” precept.

The results were disastrous. Communism didn’t work any better 400 years ago than it does today. By 1623, the colony had suffered serious losses. Starvation was imminent.

Bradford realized that the communal system encouraged and rewarded waste and laziness and inefficiency, and destroyed individual initiative. Desperate, he abolished it. He distributed private plots of land among the surviving Pilgrims, encouraging them to plant early and farm as individuals, not collectively.

The results: a bountiful early harvest that saved the colonies. After the harvest, the Pilgrims celebrated with a day of Thanksgiving — on August 9th.

Unfortunately, William Bradford’s diaries — in which he recorded the failure of the collectivist system and the triumph of private enterprise — were lost for many years. When Thanksgiving was later made a national holiday, the present November date was chosen. And the lesson the Pilgrims so painfully learned was, alas, not made a part of the holiday.

Happily, Bradford’s diaries were later rediscovered. They’re available today in paperback. They tell the real story of Thanksgiving — how private property and individual initiative saved the Pilgrims.

This Thanksgiving season, one of the many things I’m thankful for is our free market system (imperfectly realized as it is). And I’m also grateful that there are increasing numbers of Americans who are learning the importance of free markets, and who are working to replace government coercion with marketplace cooperation here in America and around the world.

Paul Schmidt

– copied from http://FreedomKeys.com/thanksgiving.htm which was copied from the Nov. 20, 1997 issue of THE LIBERATOR ONLINE at http://www.theadvocates.org/liberator/vol-02-num-21.htm

“Back in the early 80s, we took the kids up to Plymouth to see my wife’s sister who lived there at the time. Visited Plymouth Plantation. During the tour, I was struck by the presence of fortified guard shacks in the town square and asked the guide if they were a last line of defense for the citizens there if trouble with the natives spilled into the compound. He told us that they were for the control of the FOOD RIOTS which broke out those first few winters — BEFORE they abandoned their experiment with Marxism before Karl was even born…. Seems each generation or so we must relearn the hard lessons of history.”

The Great Thanksgiving Hoax

Mises Daily: Saturday, November 20, 1999 by Richard J. Maybury

Each year at this time school children all over America are taught the official Thanksgiving story, and newspapers, radio, TV, and magazines devote vast amounts of time and space to it. It is all very colorful and fascinating.

It is also very deceiving. This official story is nothing like what really happened. It is a fairy tale, a whitewashed and sanitized collection of half-truths which divert attention away from Thanksgiving’s real meaning.

The official story has the pilgrims boarding the Mayflower, coming to America and establishing the Plymouth colony in the winter of 1620-21. This first winter is hard, and half the colonists die. But the survivors are hard working and tenacious, and they learn new farming techniques from the Indians. The harvest of 1621 is bountiful. The Pilgrims hold a celebration, and give thanks to God. They are grateful for the wonderful new abundant land He has given them.

The official story then has the Pilgrims living more or less happily ever after, each year repeating the first Thanksgiving. Other early colonies also have hard times at first, but they soon prosper and adopt the annual tradition of giving thanks for this prosperous new land called America.

The problem with this official story is that the harvest of 1621 was not bountiful, nor were the colonists hardworking or tenacious. 1621 was a famine year and many of the colonists were lazy thieves.

In his ‘History of Plymouth Plantation,’ the governor of the colony, William Bradford, reported that the colonists went hungry for years, because they refused to work in the fields. They preferred instead to steal food. He says the colony was riddled with “corruption,” and with “confusion and discontent.” The crops were small because “much was stolen both by night and day, before it became scarce eatable.”

In the harvest feasts of 1621 and 1622, “all had their hungry bellies filled,” but only briefly. The prevailing condition during those years was not the abundance the official story claims, it was famine and death. The first “Thanksgiving” was not so much a celebration as it was the last meal of condemned men.

But in subsequent years something changes. The harvest of 1623 was different. Suddenly, “instead of famine now God gave them plenty,” Bradford wrote, “and the face of things was changed, to the rejoicing of the hearts of many, for which they blessed God.” Thereafter, he wrote, “any general want or famine hath not been amongst them since to this day.” In fact, in 1624, so much food was produced that the colonists were able to begin exporting corn.

What happened?

After the poor harvest of 1622, writes Bradford, “they began to think how they might raise as much corn as they could, and obtain a better crop.” They began to question their form of economic organization.

This had required that “all profits & benefits that are got by trade, working, fishing, or any other means” were to be placed in the common stock of the colony, and that, “all such persons as are of this colony, are to have their meat, drink, apparel, and all provisions out of the common stock.” A person was to put into the common stock all he could, and take out only what he needed.

This “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need” was an early form of socialism, and it is why the Pilgrims were starving. Bradford writes that “young men that are most able and fit for labor and service” complained about being forced to “spend their time and strength to work for other men’s wives and children.” Also, “the strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes, than he that was weak.” So the young and strong refused to work and the total amount of food produced was never adequate.

To rectify this situation, in 1623 Bradford abolished socialism. He gave each household a parcel of land and told them they could keep what they produced, or trade it away as they saw fit. In other words, he replaced socialism with a free market, and that was the end of famines.

Many early groups of colonists set up socialist states, all with the same terrible results. At Jamestown, established in 1607, out of every shipload of settlers that arrived, less than half would survive their first twelve months in America. Most of the work was being done by only one-fifth of the men, the other four-fifths choosing to be parasites. In the winter of 1609-10, called “The Starving Time,” the population fell from five-hundred to sixty.

Then the Jamestown colony was converted to a free market, and the results were every bit as dramatic as those at Plymouth. In 1614, Colony Secretary Ralph Hamor wrote that after the switch there was “plenty of food, which every man by his own industry may easily and doth procure.” He said that when the socialist system had prevailed, “we reaped not so much corn from the labors of thirty men as three men have done for themselves now.”

Before these free markets were established, the colonists had nothing for which to be thankful. They were in the same situation as Ethiopians are today, and for the same reasons. But after free markets were established, the resulting abundance was so dramatic that the annual Thanksgiving celebrations became common throughout the colonies, and in 1863, Thanksgiving became a national holiday.

Thus the real reason for Thanksgiving, deleted from the official story, is: Socialism does not work; the one and only source of abundance is free markets, and we thank God we live in a country where we can have them.

* * * * *
Mr. Maybury writes on investments.

I had a great shot of enthusiasm over the weekend that I wanted to share with you. It all came about because I had a few items that I wanted to sell or throw away. So I put a couple of ads on Craigslist.com and ended up running into some rather interesting Entrepreneurs and people in general. They ranged in age from about 20 to 75.

If you want an example of Capitalism working at its best it is a perfect example. If your price is too high it won’t sell, but if it is priced right and it is something in demand, you can get a dozen calls on the item and sell it in a matter of minutes.

As I am always interested in every aspect of Capitalism and how it works, I ended up having some very interesting conversations with the people that purchased the items I had for sale.

Two of them made a living from Craigslist.com which I thought was pretty cool and I am talking over $70,000 a year. For a one man or woman show that is pretty darn good. While I won’t tell you what they were buying and selling it was not rocket science as to what they were doing. Buying low and selling higher. The cool part was that they had zero inventory and they were completely Internet based and yet they did not have a website…although that is going to change if I have anything to do with it.. LOL

This brings up another one of my favorite subjects….Guerilla Marketing.. Do you have an ongoing ad in Craigslist.com and the other free classified sites? If not, go do it now, you would be amazed at how many people use them.

I also met people that are just trying to squeeze a dollar as hard as they can. I met a great lady who had her 3 year old son with her who’s husband just got sent to Iraq and she wanted to spruce up her apartment, but yet did not have a lot of money to spend and was shopping for a bargain.

So anyway, there is a huge market on the free classified sites out there and you should really be taking advantage of it because you could be amazed at the response that you get. I want you to be part of those successful Entrepreneurs out there that now create 80% of all of the jobs in the US.

Cheers,

Andrew

Today marks the US Marine Corps 234th Birthday and I would like to say Happy Birthday and thank you for your service to all of the Marines, past and present for your service.

Without you, I would not be able to post to my blog like this without fear of retribution and if not for you, I would probably be speaking German or Japanese, or possibly even Russian or Chinese!

The founding of the Marine Corps took place at the Tun Tavern in Philadelphia by a committee of the Continental Congress. A resolution was drafted to form two battalions of Marines providing a force to fight on land and sea. The resolution to form the USMC was approved Nov.10, 1775.

Currently the U.S. Marine Corps has 180,000 active duty members and is engaged in the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. And to think that they all came about to protest a 5% tax increase. Our current government should be glad they don’t have the founding fathers around today!

Happy Birthday Marines and thank you for your service! It truly is much appreciated!

Cheers,

Andrew Anderson

Quite well in some cases I might add.

And guess what? Those Profits are going to continue to remain elusive for many.

But for those of you that can separate themselves from the crowd, there is probably just as much money to be made now as there ever was. This is especially true if you have a Website.

Were you aware that even now, over 65% of businesses out there do not have a Website? Come on people, there is this new thing called the Internet.

While many people try and propose that Capitalism is a Zero Sum game in that in order for someone to win, someone else has to lose. Mostly Politicians seem to be doing this a lot while lining their pockets with your money and giving it to their friends. The way they play it, it is a Zero Sum game but other than in the warped world they live in, it is not.

The truth of the matter is that when you are dealing in an even relatively heavily regulated economy like we are going toward here in the US, the pie continues to grow as long as the Government does not tax it to death, which is why when taxes are lowered, in every single instance the Governments revenue drastically increases because the pie grows so much bigger.

When Reagan, Clinton, and George W lowered taxes, income into the treasury surged to all time highs in each case. Duh, if you want more revenues to come in what do you do? You have a sale just like WalMart. You don’t freakin raise your prices…

But the problem with that is that the Politicians lose power when the Economy is going really well. This is because when you have money, who needs the Government? So, Politicians use, or often times create a crisis to gain more power plain and simple.

It does not make sense but they have been doing it for thousands of years and they do it still. But I don’t want to get off track.Although I know you already know this because you are not one of the Sheople out there.

Sheople don’t ask questions, Sheople don’t work hard and start their own businesses or actually take responsibility for their own lives. I know you are not one of them because you are here reading this.

My point is that there with everyone running around scared and things are in Chaos, there is opportunity.

Now if what the experts I am listening to are right and the Market does indeed take a big nose dive here in the near future, there will be even more opportunity for the savvy business woman for sure.

So, keep your eyes and ears open and look for opportunity. It is out there and it is coming. I will go over a couple of niches that I think are about to explode here shortly.

I will give you some hints. What do you think people are going to want to purchase if the Market tanks once again and Oil prices continue to break new records? That is where I feel the next big opportunities are going to be.

That is just one Profit Consultants thoughts….

Now depending on your view point, some would say this is good in that it will protect naive or stupid gullible consumers depending on your point of view, while others would say this is just yet another intrusion into your privacy and saying that you are too stupid to chew gum and surf the Internet at the same time.

Basically what they are doing is saying that they are going to start monitoring Bloggers to see if they are getting any type remunerations or spiffs from anything that you may endorse on your site. Now they mention as an example of Entertainers getting freebies for endorsing things but it also covers virtually everyone.

Here is how Grandma could get busted as it is worded now.

Lets say Grandma Abby is writing about knitting, and she happens to have her act together with her Blog, Grandma Abby’s Knitting Secrets has thousands of readers world wide.

Now she absolutely loves Acme Knitting needles and writes about them occasionally and has been using them for 50 years. Well Acme Knitting Needles heard about this and sent her a whole batch of them to for her to try out and keep.

Grandma Abby thought this was really nice of them.

They also gave her an affiliate link to post on her blog so that she could make some money to buy yarn too. Grandma thought this was even nicer.

So, Grandma writes a blog about a new technique that her Grandmother taught her and mentions that she thinks Acme Knitting Needles are still the best and she is using a new model and how great they are for that doing a Moss or Box Stitch.

While Grandma is out at her weekly Knitting Bee, a bunch of people read her Blog and her story and they then click on the Acme Knitting Needles link and Grandma makes some money.

Technically under this new Ruling, Grandma Abby could go to jail and face and $11,000 fine for not disclosing this material connection with Acme Knitting Needles each time someone purchased those needles. Acme could also be fined.

Kind of cool huh?

They do not explain exactly what this means for Affiliate Marketers.

Now hopefully this law won’t get abused and they say it is for consumer protection but there seems to be some big gaping holes in it that could be abused by whichever party is in office at the moment.

Here are two examples.

How Laura and Greenpeace can get nailed.

1. What if Laura a dedicated Left Wing Blogger writes about pushing forth a Bill to save the Yellow Bellied Salamander of San Francisco Creek and Greenpeace pays for her trip and she has a donate to Greenpeace button and she does not disclose that Greenpeace paid for her bus ticket, under the rule, there is nothing to say that she could not get nailed for it and so could Greenpeace.

How Patty, Her Church and The Tea Parties can get nailed.

2. What if Patty a caring Mom, a Tea Party Member arranged for her Church to use their bus to go to a Tea Party to protest the new Health Bill which will cut 500 million from Medicaid that her Knitting Grandma relies on. After the trip, Patty posts a link to make donations to the Church without disclosing that the Church paid for her trip.

Under the rule Patty and the Church could end up fined.

Now do I think that the FTC put this out there so that they can nail people? Absolutely not, but there are some big gaping holes in it that could be quite easily abused if they do not provide further clarification.

Here is a link. And NO, I am not receiving any remuneration from the FTC for doing this.

Did anyone hear of the Notice of hearing for this? They had to have taken place but they mention that only two people responded on some things. What is up with that? They could have gotten a thousand responses I would have thought.

Anyway here is a link to the FTC post about it.

http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2009/10/endortest.shtm

Here is a link to the Federal Registry of the Actual Rule. All 81 pages of it.

http://www.ftc.gov/os/2009/10/091005endorsementguidesfnnotice.pdf

And along the same lines, here is my official disclosure to readers of this site. I might make a few bucks from some of the products that I speak about on this Blog. That is if I could only remember to go get a darn affiliate link for them and use it.

Have I gotten anything for free yet? No, I do not think so. But then again that is really a good idea. So if you have anything that you want to send me for free to try out, go ahead and send it. I will find out a what the FTC needs as far as a disclosure and post it.

Hopefully you will not have to have a 1,100 word disclosure agreement for a 300 word blog post.

I know that the FTC probably has the best intentions with this but you know what they say about the road to hell.

Do you think people are too stupid to figure out that Bloggers may make money from endorsements and have to be warned? Do you think this is a good thing or is it just another government intrusion?

And, what does this mean for affiliate marketers? Guess we will have to find out….

Let me know what you think.

Red brings arousal and excitement to most men, hence, read lipstick and nails. So, if you are selling lingerie to males or even women for that matter, red could be a good place to start. It also attract attention immediately.

Red lips as a physiological response due to dilated blood vessels from arousal in women is often sited as one of the many reasons why this happens. While this works for most guys and gals that swing that way, there is also perhaps the sub-conscious competition for mates that it brings about in other women as well.

That and that somewhere back in our reptilian brain (now this is entirely me theorizing here) , it either means pain or pleasure in that there might be blood which means food or danger in that something caused the blood. Either way, it shouts “Pay Attention” Dude or Dudette, something is going on here.

So, are there colors that actually can help sell your shit? Absolutely there are and they change over the years and sometimes they even change over a period of months.

Colors affect us almost immediately too on a subconscious level. For instance when you ask some what they think of when they see green, they often say that Money automatically come to mind. But now the Feds are adding purple and other colors… come on guys… no funny money please… Green is good.

Right now, I have heard that Orange buttons on order pages seem to work the best for some reason. I guess they are ok if they do indeed work.

And for those people that make over $100,000 per year, their favorite colors are Forest Green, Light Gray, and IBM Blue.

So your color scheme you use on your website and your products do matter.

I think that if you are trying to sell something to men, that you more than likely want to stay away from pink for instance. But pink has also been shown to reduce violence in prisons.

And I am sure you have your own version of hideous colors and those that you like as well. but you have to remember that while may like them, your customers may not.

But at the end of the day, you do need to have a good color scheme and while you won’t be able to please everyone, there will be one that will sell more of your shit to your customers than others. The trick is in actually figuring out which one that is….

A good design and the right colors really can help you sell your shit. And while you may have not put that much thought into it, colors really do matter.

For everyone else, I will give you some more scientific information on this subject soon. There are colors you should be using for certain clientele.

Cheers,

Andrew Anderson

Profit Consultant

PS My favorite color it Green.

Entrepreneurial Leverage – The X Factor That Allows The Individual To Beat Big Companies Every Time

Here is how and why the man or woman in their Garage, Basement, or Bedroom that is hoping to start a business and beat the big companies out there that have hundreds of employees and millions of dollars at their disposal can do it.

I have written about this before over the years but I think that I have honed it down so that everyone with two neurons firing (that could be me on a good day) can understand it. Here is the secret to how you as an Entrepreneur can beat the big guys.

First I want to layout some ground work that I have done before but, I want to put this all inside one nut shell.

The thing that we have to start off with is Moore’s Law which is Gordon Moore of Hewlett Packard fame that says basically this….

The capability and speed of computer chips will double every 18 months and the price will be cut in half.

This has remained true since 1965 if you can believe it or not.

What does this mean to our conversation about the Entrepreneur being able to take on big companies?

Well, first off while many people know this, very few realize how fundamentally this has changed business.

Washington And Most Companies Don’t Get It And How Moore’s Law Has Drastically And Fundamentally Changed The Economy Forever

First and foremost most medium and large businesses do not realize how this has changed things and most assuredly the Government has not realized it either.

Over 70% of all people are employed by small businesses currently and nearly 90% of all new jobs are now being created by them, in spite of the Government’s best attempt to not only not help Small Businesses, but, make running and starting one even more and more difficult if not practically impossible.

In the recent stimulus package for instance while there were hundreds of billions given to large businesses, did you know that there was more money given to the National Endowment For The Arts than to Small Businesses? That is how out of touch Washing DC and even most Politicians in most States have become. When it comes to this basic tenant of the Economy and how much things have changes since the 70′s, Politicians truly are worse than clueless and what they did has hurt the ability of Small Businesses to borrow money and survive and thrive which is one of the main reasons I believe the Goobers in DC were surprised at the climbing unemployment rates.

So let me explain why the folks in DC and a lot of others don’t understand what is going on. Because of Moore’s Law, and what it has done to computers, you as an individual can sit in your underwear in your Bedroom or on the beach for the matter and do the work of 15 to 17 people say five to seven years ago. Or even only 24 months ago as I will show you.

And actually I put the multiplier at 17 people about every 2 years now. I will show you why in a later post and I am calling is “Anderson’s Entrepreneurial Law”. So what this means is that when it comes to being able to produce a professional looking products online, put up sales pages, ordering, even accounting and customer service, even only 5 years ago, what you can do by yourself now, would have taken 15 to 20 people to do.

Plus, prices have dropped dramatically. A url or domain name used to cost $100 ten years ago, now you can get them at places like GoDaddy.com (see link to the right) for under $10.

The same thing for hosting, and websites, and a host of other tools you need to go online.

Now lets also bring in another fact that I think is just as critical and that is speed of implementation. I have also written extensively on the past about this as well.

Here is how Ms. and Mr Entrepreneur can run circles around the big boys. If you have ever worked in even a relatively good sized company, there is a whole chain of command that you have to run through to get anything new done. There the whole inevitably internal political chain of command that an idea has to run the gauntlet of and then there is the real one that the idea has to survive as well.

First worker Bee A has a great idea for a widget to solve a problem she sees people having on the Web. She knows she can probably fix it by doing x, y, and z and it would take her at most 2 weeks to get the solution done.

But….

Here are just a couple of scenarios. She presents it to her immediate supervisor and depending on if the supervisor has any brains or is in a good mood or not, she might say , “that is stupid” or “that is kind of good” or “that is great but we should do it like this”. Now the brilliant million dollar idea might get shot down at the start because the supervisor is ignorant, does not feel like starting anything new, is jealous she did not think of it, or knows that her supervisor does not like ideas.

But regardless, there are at least a dozens of hurdles that the idea must overcome, and even if it does not get shot down, it may become so changes by the time it gets approved because everyone wants to put in their two cents worth that the solution may not work.

Couple that with a time frame that could realistically be months or years for the idea to actually get out there, the opportunity is more than likely gone.

Now take the same million dollar idea with our intrepid Ms. Entrepreneur. She see the problem, comes up with the solution, creates the fix herself or outsources it and two weeks later she introduces it to the market place and it is a hit and the million dollar idea pays her a million dollars.

This scenario is repeated thousands and thousands of times each and every day. She who gets to the market place first more often than not wins the game before other even realize there was one going on.

An Entrepreneur’s Distinct Advantage

The key for the Entrepreneur is to successfully use the leverage that Moore’s law provides and the speed of implementation that is simply not available to medium to large companies..

Now this is easier said than done, but in the next few weeks, I am going to lay out the exact tools provided to us by Moore’s law that you can use compete and beat the big boys at their own game.

As you may know I get to Beta Test quite a few things before they get out to the public and there are some tools that are coming out soon that are going to totally level the playing field and be game changers for most of what is going on with the web and marketing.

And I have not heard a peep about what I am going to share with you anywhere else. Really mind blowing cool stuff.

In the meantime, remember, you have a big advantage!

And while their site is a little cludgey www.petpeepee.com you still know exactly what they are all about and what they are selling.

If you go there, check out there jingle. I love it!

No ambiguity there at all.

What is your message? Is it this clear?

Does it only bring in qualified customers like this one?

Do you think that they have many tire kickers or do you think that only people that have a pet stain problem go there?

Exactly.. pure genius common sense marketing.

More on this later…

Cheers,
